Road Construction on County and Town Roads in 2018

Posted on May 7, 2018 at 8:31 AM by PattiAnn Schultz

The Town of Webster will have a lot of road improvements coming this summer and there might be delays when traveling in and around Webster.  The Monroe County Department of Transportation will be overseeing five different road projects in town this year. All of these projects are milling and resurfacing projects which are federal aid projects.

  • Phillips Road

From Schlegel Road north down Phillips Road to Lake Road we will see new water lines, extended shoulders of the road, and repaving of the road with completion done by the end of the year.

  • Phillips Road

Phillips Road from State Road to Route 104 will be repaved.

  • Klem Road

Klem Road from Bay Road to Holt Road will be repaved.

  • Gravel Road

Gravel Road north from the Route 104 overpass to Klem Road will be repaved.

  • Holt Road

Holt Road from the Route 404 overpass to Klem Road will be repaved.

The Town of Webster Highway Department will be working on several town roads this year.

  • Orchard Street, from the Village of Webster line to Holt Road, will be milled and cold

trained (asphalt taken up and put right back down).

  • Hawthorne Place will receive new gutters along with a complete mill and repaving of the road.
  • Forest Lawn Road will see the modification of the turn-around, gutters on the south side of the road and the repaving of the road.

The Town of Webster Highway Department will also be working on major drainage projects this year:

  • Build a regional detention facility for water quality, water quantity, and management with an H, 20 Load Bridge over Finn Park creek at Finn Park on Gravel Road.
  • Finish the drainage work at the Empire Park pond which began years ago after acquiring the needed permits after a five year wait to get these permits.

Drug collection was a SUCCESS!

There were 212 cars that traveled to the Wastewater Plant on Saturday, April 28th that allowed us to collect just over 600 pounds of expired and unwanted over the counter and prescription drugs.  This certainly goes a long way to safely dispose of these drugs before they fall into the wrong

hands. Thank you to all who participated!  Look for the next event this fall, and if you have any expired and unwanted over the counter and prescription drugs that need to be disposed of before then, there is always the red drug collection box at the Town Hall by the Police Department entrance for your convenience.

As always, if you have any questions about your town government, please feel free to contact me during regular business hours at (585) 872-7068; or email me anytime at supervisor@ci.webster.ny.us
