Zoning Board of Appeals
Zoning Board meetings are held on the second Tuesday of each month at 7:00 pm. Unless otherwise stated, meetings will be held in the Town Board Meeting Room, 1002 Ridge Road.
Responsibilities of a Zoning Board Member:
Members are appointed to serve a term of five years.
Each member of the Zoning Board of Appeals shall attend a minimum of four (4) hours of NYS required training courses each year, measured during the period from January 1 to December 31.
Members of the Zoning Board of Appeals shall attend a minimum of eighty (80) percent of the regular meetings of such board held each year between January 1 and December 31.
Preparation for bi-weekly board meetings will include reviewing project materials and conducting site visits.
Alternate Zoning Board Members:
- Appointed to serve a term of 3 years (per Town Code section 52-2)
- Will serve at board meetings when a member is absent or unable to participate on an application or matter before the Zoning Board
- When so designated by the Chairman, the alternate member shall possess all the powers and responsibilities of such member of the Zoning Board
- Must attend required NYS training courses (4 hours per year)
- Will be expected to prepare for the bi-weekly meetings by reviewing project documents and completing site visits
